Circuit to the Source of Creativity
Muralismo is a mural project inspired by the Mexican muralists circa 1920. We have invited 8 local hi-desert artists to express their own social commentary of our modern Western world, in their own unique creative methods. The painting will begin at sunrise on September 28th at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center Art & Sculpture Garden.
The images presented on this mural are glimpses from my travels to indigenous countries and experiences of latin culture in California.

The egg symbolizing the universe with the serpent of creative life force encircled. How do we break out of the shell of our paradigm and emerge renewed?

I don’t know the story behind the photo reference I used for this water color sketch but it seems to capture something that goes beyond animal captivity… finding peace with what enslaves.
